Reformed Worship Services - The Whole Counsel of God
Christian worship is the formal and public gathering of God's people to hear the word of God and to present ourselves to Him.
The focus of our worship is centered on the meritorious and atoning work of Jesus Christ as our sole mediator between God and man. Therefore, reformed worship of God is, and has historically been, structured around the proclamation of the whole counsel of God. This begins with the rehearsing of His Law with the blessings and cursing of His Covenant, the good news of our salvation and hope in Jesus Christ, the call to repentance, faith and service.
On the basis of these principles we use the following order to guide us during worship:
- Call to Worship
- Salutation and Congregational Amen
- Congregational Singing
- The Ten Words of the Covenant
- Congregation Singing
- Reading of Holy Scripture
- Worship of God in Tithes & Offerings
- Congregational Singing
- Reading of the Sermon Scripture Text
- Ministry of the Word
- Prayer
- Congregational Singing
- Benediction
- Doxology
On the first Lord's Day of each month we practice the Lord's Supper in a Communion Service appended to our regular order.
